In 1983 the Soviets shot down a Korean Airlines  flight which carried 269 passengers, 61 of which were American. Rep. Larry McDonald (D-GA) was one of them. He was a vocal anti-communist in the House of Representatives. The plane is said to have landed in Soviet territory, but what happened to the passengers?
