Who needs the state legislature?  Who needs elected officials?  Federal Judge Timothy Black, is expected to order Ohio to recognize gay couples who wed in other states that allow same sex-marriage.   The Judge has indicated that the state’s ban on gay marriage violates constitutional rights.  Don’t our states have a constitution?  Is it meaningless?  This should be decided at the state level. The state plans to appeal Black’s ruling, arguing that Ohio has a sovereign right to ban gay marriage, which voters did overwhelmingly in 2004.
